| Description: |
A tribute to Eric Johnson - live, solo keyboard simulation of a rock guitar trio
|
| Notes: |
This piece was used as a demo for the KDFX digital muliteffects upgrade for Kurzweil's K2500 series. The flexibility in the KDFX architecture allowed me to setup different signal paths for the clean/chorused and distortion guitar sounds, and still have enough
horsepower for a general reverb for other instruments.
Performed live and in real-time by one human (me) on one keyboard, the amazing-when-fully-loaded K2500S. Guitar parts were done with my right hand, the bass and (touch sensitive) drum sounds are layered and played with my left hand.
Switches and pedals are used to hold/trigger parts to free up
my hands when necessary. The only part that is not actually played live is the re-entrance of the "fingerpicked" guitar part under the volume pedal/echo section and again at the end under the "koto" section...that's a sample of me playing that part, triggered by a footswitch.
A docment is available detailing exactly how the Kurzweil was programmed to allow for the realization of the track. Just ask!
